01 / WHY I BUILT IT

I LOVED
INSTAGIB.

“I loved Unreal Tournament. I loved Instagib.”

This game is a tribute to that original feeling when arena shooters were in their prime: extremely fast, slightly chaotic, but somehow everything felt right. Movement, jumps and strafes clicked instantly.

It was easy to start and brutally hard to master. SAGORAX is my attempt to capture that feeling again—not as a museum piece, but as a new game with modern light, speed and weight.

THE OLD INSTINCTREBORN, NOT REMASTERED

NO CLASSES

NO LOOT TIERS

NO WAITING

JUST AIM. MOVE. FIRE.

02 / BATTLEGROUNDS

THREE ARENAS.
NO SAFE ANGLES.

Gothic silhouettes, industrial steel, jump pads, wet stone and lethal sightlines. Familiar arena DNA, pushed through a darker SAGORAX lens.

DM / 01

AUTUMN

Storm-lit gardens, wet stone and long-range pressure.

DM / 02

COURSE

A torch-lit gothic fort with a flooded heart.

DM / 03

STATION

Industrial verticality, launch pads and hard steel.

Instagib laser crossfire across a flooded gothic courtyard

03 / SOUND OF THE ARENA

BUILT TO GET
YOU MOVING.

Breakbeats, distorted synths and late-90s electronic pressure. The soundtrack is not background decoration—it pushes the countdown, sharpens the next dodge and makes “one more match” feel inevitable.

04 / UNDER THE ARMOUR

OLD-SCHOOL
INSTINCT.
NEW-SCHOOL GPU.

SAGORAX is a WebGPU-first technical playground built to find the line between aggressive modern graphics and the frame rate an arena shooter demands.

01

WEBGPU FIRST

Modern GPU pipelines, compute-driven effects and a renderer designed around the browser’s newest graphics API.

02

FSR 3 TEMPORAL

Temporal reconstruction and sharpening preserve image clarity while reducing the expensive internal render load.

03

MODERN LIGHT

Dynamic character shadows, rain, bloom, reflections, contact shadows and an experimental Ultra RT path.

04

ARENA RESPONSE

A fixed 120 Hz simulation keeps movement, dodges and hit registration crisp even when visual load changes.

STRAIGHT
ANSWERS.

No launcher, no enormous install and no maze of unlocks. This public trial is built to get you from the homepage to your first frag as quickly as the browser allows.

WHAT IS SAGORAX ARENA?

A free browser-based instagib first-person shooter inspired by the speed and movement feel of classic UT99 and UT2004 arena combat.

DO I NEED TO INSTALL ANYTHING?

No. Create a gamertag and play in a WebGPU-compatible desktop browser. Your first visit downloads the game assets; immutable browser caching avoids downloading unchanged files again.

IS THIS MULTIPLAYER?

The current public trial is a single-player deathmatch against bots with persistent accounts, match history and leaderboards. Full multiplayer is planned for a later phase.

WHY DOES IT NEED WEBGPU?

WebGPU gives SAGORAX modern GPU access for its lighting, reflections, effects and temporal upscaling while preserving the fast response an arena shooter needs.
